MY COACHING FOR YOUMC4Y P. Hoenig

Project support and coaching

A successful project needs a clear mandate and a motivated team. I help project managers to achieve both – and to stay on course through difficult phases.

What it is about

Many projects run into trouble not because of the technology, but because of unclear goals, unclear processes, a lack of genuine readiness for change within the organisation, unfilled roles, too few resources or smouldering conflicts within the team.

As a project manager and consultant on numerous IT projects, I have learned to keep both in view: time, budget, quality and scope – and above all the people who carry the project.

Typical situations

  • The project's vision, mission and goals need to be reviewed or created
  • Processes need to be clarified
  • Readiness for change needs to be built
  • A new project is to be set up properly
  • Leading a project for the first time without experienced support
  • Deadlines and budget are getting out of control
  • Uncertainty: agile, traditional or hybrid?
  • Closing a project with an honest review

Frequently asked questions

Agile or traditional – which is the better fit?

Agile methods such as Scrum are suitable when requirements only become clear as the project progresses. Traditional planning suits fixed requirements and deadlines. In practice, hybrid approaches often prove their worth.

Do you take on the role of project manager?

What I offer is consulting and coaching for the project manager and the team. Operational project management remains your responsibility.

Can you support a project in crisis?

Yes. An independent assessment shows where the project stands and lays the foundation for a realistic restart.
