MY COACHING FOR YOU, Peter Hoenig – https://www.my-coaching4you.de/

This folder holds all the tools of the MC4Y Productivity Suite as individual files. They run in your
browser – without installation, without sign-in, without an administrator password and without internet. You
save your work as files wherever you like. Nothing is transmitted.

This works on any Windows computer, any Mac (even with an older macOS) and on Linux.

WHAT YOU NEED
  - A current browser: Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Safari.
  - About 5 minutes.

HOW TO GET STARTED

On Windows
  1. Did you open this file from inside “mc4y-werkzeuge.zip”? Then the package has not been unpacked yet.
Close this file, right-click “mc4y-werkzeuge” in Explorer, then click “Extract All…” and “Extract”.
Tip: With “Browse…” you can choose a permanent location, for example “Documents”.
  2. Open the unpacked folder “MC4Y-Werkzeuge-0.4.15”.
  3. Double-click “index” (or “index.html”).
You now see the page “MC4Y tools” in the browser, with all the tools arranged by area.
If Windows asks which program to open the file with: choose “Microsoft Edge” or “Google Chrome”.
  4. Create a bookmark: Ctrl + D, then “Done”.

On the Mac
  1. In the Finder (“Downloads” folder), double-click “mc4y-werkzeuge.zip”, unless Safari has already
     unpacked the file by itself.
You now see the folder “MC4Y-Werkzeuge-0.4.15”.
  2. Drag the folder to its permanent place, for example into “Documents”.
  3. Open the folder and double-click “index.html”.
You now see the page “MC4Y tools” in the browser.
  4. Create a bookmark: cmd + D, then “Add”.

On Linux
In the file manager, right-click “mc4y-werkzeuge.zip” › “Extract Here”, then double-click “index.html” in the
  new folder.

Do not move the folder later: The browser remembers interim states together with the location of the files.

HOW TO WORK WITH THE TOOLS
  1. On the page “MC4Y tools”, click a tool. It opens in the browser.
  2. Many tools have an “Example” button – it shows you straight away what the tool looks like.
  3. “Save” stores your work as a file. In Chrome and Edge you choose the location yourself; in Safari and
Firefox the file ends up in the “Downloads” folder.
  4. “Open” brings back a saved file.
  5. Help is available in every tool at the top under “Help” or “?”.
  6. At the top right, “DE | EN” switches between German and English.
Your work is the saved files – back them up as you would other documents.

HOW TO CHECK THAT IT WORKED
  - “index.html” shows the page “MC4Y tools”.
  - Open a tool, click “Save” and then “Open”: Your file comes back.

COMMON PROBLEMS
  - The page is empty or a tool is missing: The package was not unpacked completely. Please unpack it again
(Windows: “Extract All…”; Mac: double-click the ZIP file).
  - Windows opens “index.html” in a text editor: Right-click “index.html” › “Open with” ›
    “Microsoft Edge” or “Google Chrome”.
  - Saving always ends up in “Downloads”: That is how Safari and Firefox work. Move the file to its place
afterwards – or use Chrome or Edge.

UPDATING
  1. Download and unpack the new “mc4y-werkzeuge.zip”.
  2. In the new folder, select everything (Windows: Ctrl + A, Mac: cmd + A) and copy it (Ctrl + C or cmd + C).
  3. Open your existing tools folder and paste (Ctrl + V or cmd + V).
  4. When asked about existing files: “Replace the files in the destination” (Windows) or “Replace” (Mac).
Your saved work is stored elsewhere and stays untouched.

REMOVING
Drag the tools folder to the Recycle Bin (on a Mac: the Bin). Your saved files stay.
Interim states that the browser has remembered you delete in the browser’s settings
(“Clear browsing data” or “Site data”).

MORE?
The whole suite – with sign-in, shared storage, document storage, wiki, calendar, tasks and
daily backup – is available as “mc4y-suite.zip”. Your files from the tools can be opened there again.

The tools are provided free of charge and without any warranty (see LIZENZ.txt).
